Great spot for some great tea. They have a really nice selection of teas with an assortment of flavors and toppings.

Very clean and vibrant establishment. It's is a bit small so minimum seating options and because it is such a great place it tends to be busy. Staff was nice but very busy so not much interaction.

Prices and reasonable and size options are respectable. Looking forward to coming back.

The good: there is now a milk tea place near UCSD that is not TapEx

The bad: this is the only milk tea place near UCSD that is not TapEx

Yup, you guessed it. This place is always uncomfortably full and busy. A few days ago I went here 15 minutes before closing (10:45pm) and the place was so busy that I could barely get an inch of space for myself. The tables here are almost always occupied. Although this sucks,  I can't count this against them because they can't control this.

The regular sweetness levels for the drinks vary wildly. The flavored teas tend to on the sweeter side or normal. The milk teas lean anywhere from not sweet enough to too sweet. You need to manually adjust your drinks to get them to an equal sweetness standard.

Taro milk tea - normal sweetness is good
Plain milk tea and jasmine milk tea  - recommend extra sweet
Brown Sugar Milk Tea - normal sweetness is good
Strawberry milk tea - damn sweet. Less sweet recommended
    Hokkaido Milk Tea - #$^@&*%

People recommend the Hokkaido milk tea a lot, but I personally found it to be an abomination to the senses. It tasted like a starbucks caramel latte that soaked too long in the sun, was put back into the fridge, started watching Naruto and now identifies as milk tea. Yeah.

Anyways if you come here I recommend the Jasmine Green Milk Tea, extra sweet.

Decent boba! I was really craving milk tea (why isn't there a TeaTop nearby) so my friend and I yelped the closest place that wasn't Tapioca Express.

Walking in, it was packed and aesthetically pleasing. Like many other tea places, they have tables to sit and play card games. I asked them what they recommended and they told me Hokkaido Oolong if I liked caramel. The caramel undertones were definitely subtle so it wasn't nearly as creamy as I had hoped for.
    $3.95 + $0.55 (topping)

I usually go for 50% sweetness and less ice whenever I try a new tea place but here they definitely make it on the less sweet side so 50% actually wasn't sweet enough at all, surprisingly. Honestly, I was a little disappointed. It wasn't very creamy but the oolong tea did taste decent (could be brewed longer). The 'small' cups are adorable too! Golden boba is basically honey boba but not as good/sweet because it's not marinated in brown sugar. To be honest, not really sure what golden boba is but it was well cooked: chewy and QQ so pretty good but not as flavorful.

It seems like a popular choice in the area since it was still packed around 9pm but I'm not quite a fan. Both my friend and I thought that it was decent but not our favorites.

Ordered winter melon black tea with boba (half sweet).

It was definitely not as sweet. I'll try regular sugar level next time.
Their golden boba is slightly different and definitely better at most places (in terms of preparation) but still not unique.
Their tea is okay. Maybe I got the wrong type of tea or they haven't used enough leaves or didn't  brew it long enough.

They are definitely 3.5 stars and will update accordingly as I try out more places.

Dang it's about time they added a nice boba place near UCSD. When I attended school there a few years ago all we had was Tapioca Express on campus and the one in the Regents shopping center. I was always surprised they didn't open more boba shops in the UTC/La Jolla area since I know there's a big demand with us Asian students haha. This Ding Tea location is a bit smaller than the one in Clairemont. They do have a few tables but it is limited that even a random customer asked to share our table haha.

I ordered a Chocolate Milk Tea with Egg Pudding. I usually never get toppings but I thought I'd change it up for once. The drink tasted pretty good. I like how their regular size cup is rounded, it's cute!
